Ozone Trend Generator

Back in the early 1980s, ozone was the toast of pop intelligentsia -- there was a layer, the layer had a hole, and Led Zeppelin sang about ozone as a nation breakdanced brokedanced was breakin'.

Eventually everyone switched from hairspray to styling mousse, leaving only this map of ozone stations (tiny blue dots). Because we are interested in ozone levels near NWPS wilderness areas, these are drawn in orange. The view is initially centered on the lower 48, but there are stations in Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.
